With a highly circulated press release yesterday Charlie Weis narrowed the list of potential quarterback starters from four to two three. On Sept 1st against Georgia Tech one of these three players will be lining up under center: Evan Sharpley, Demetrius Jones, or Jimmy Clausen.

Notre Dame picked up their 13th 2008 recruit yesterday:
Pleasure Ridge Park High School defensive tackle Brandon Newman has become one of the most recruited football prospects in the state of Kentucky.
Yesterday on a trip to South Bend, Ind., the 6-foot-1, 305-pound Newman gave Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis a verbal commitment.
