ND Scrambles to Sell Home Game Tix

As predicted, based on reasons discussed here and here, Notre Dame is frantically trying to offload unsold home football tickets.  This is not surprising.  After the Ultimate Slap in the Face last year(raising ticket prices after a 1-6 home record) fans have finally had enough.

Ticket Demand

As predicted here earlier, ticket demand for 2009 ND football games turned out weak.  Several factors for this:
1)Added games(7 home games and 1 “home” game in San Antonio)
2)Poor product on the field in recent seasons
3)Increased ticket prices
4)Weakest economy since the 1930s
5)Crackdown on fun in and around the Stadium

Weis is sticking around next year regardless how the team performs. The economy will determine that he stays. Notre Dame won’t be able to justify paying a buyout when it is getting crushed financially in other areas.
