Washington To Fire Ty?
According to a poster on Scout’s Washington site Ty Willingham has been fired with the announcement coming on Thursday.
Here is the post:
Tyrone Willingham has been relieved of his duites by Mark Emmert. The two will meet tomorrow to work out the final details and it will be announced Thursday. The main sticking point has been the taking care of Tyrone’s assistants.
And before anybody yells at me for no posts. Remember my posts back in 2003 about Mr. Gilbertson and his plane incident right before the apple cup. there has been no need to post since then.
I know what I know because I live in Seattle and have friends who invest money in washington.
Here’s the part that sticks out: “The main sticking point has been the taking care of Tyrone’s assistants.” That sounds awfully familiar.
If this is true, I will spend the rest of the week laughing at all those who claimed Notre Dame was premature in letting Ty go in the first place. I am quite positive that if this rumor becomes fact Notre Dame will be blamed.
Anyway, don’t feel bad for Ty. He will have all the time(and money) to work on his swing.

If “Ty The Golfer” is back for ‘08, he had best find a way to have a winning season. A winning season for Willingham is an oxymoron. Actually, what the year will do for him is to provide one year for job hunting.

Here’s the thing. Ty isn’t out of the woods yet. I heard the Washington AD was canned this week which could cause some issues for Ty.
