Another Let Down
I went to the game last night with three Domers. Cujo set us up with some ridiculous seats right behind the bench:

What a let down though. I said it during the football season and I’ll say it again here: I am sick of walking out of stadiums a loser. I know, I’ll always be a loser, but you know what I mean here.
The guys looked defeated when Marquette evened it up after being down by 10. You could feel that ND was going to let the game slip away. Marquette made everything they took in the second half. Is that the product of being hot or nor being defended?
I’ll say this, their guards are quick little mo fos.
I don’t know why Brey had Harangody on the bench for the entire second part of the first half. But I don’t think Harangody on the bench was the problem since we opened up a 6 point halftime lead with him there. Barro from Marquette played a great game defensively basically shutting down Harangody.
Jackson shouldn’t be allowed to take shots outside of the lane.
Probably still a 5 seed since UConn and Louisville lost as well. This is just a damn tough league.

I blame a lack of availability in prom queens for all the losing.
ND just needs to accept more prom queens.

Speaking of prom queens, the Marquette cheerleaders must have been outsourced. Not too shabby.

I don’t blame anyone. I think the boys try their best and do what they can. I like to win to I never redicule them for losing. Win or lose I am a ND fan.

I agree with your analysis JVH, I do put some blame on Brey not changing things after M went on a 13-2 run (maybe more). Try to press, try man to man, try a different zone to put pressure on the guards. The strategy of “well, they can’t hit every three they take” doesn’t work if they hit their threes. But with that said, other than Georgetown, Marquette was the one team I did not want to face before the finals. We don’t match up well against them. That’s no excuse, I put the responsibility on the coach to find a way to beat a team you match up poorly against. But if we were playing Pitt, I think we’d have crushed em.
