Weis Era Over?
We are hearing a rumor from someone close to the situation that Charlie Weis resigned before the UConn game.
Look for an announcement shortly(tomorrow) and for a replacement coach to be named within two weeks.
UPDATE: Weis is holding a press conference tomorrow. He’ll most likely cite “health reasons” as the reason to step down. Again, this is the rumor.
UPDATE II: Notre Dame will honor the buyout(~$10mil) and Weis will sit out a year as he gets healthy. Then he will most likely return to the NFL as a coordinator. This prevents Notre Dame from having to fire one of their own.

So, JVH, have you heard anything else? Is there eventually a presser today? Is the announcement being put off. Or is the rumor not going to come to fruition?

There is a presser today at 11:30 Central.
We’ll have to see what happens there.

May have resigned but it is not public yet. That is my guess. He’ll go through the week as he normally does and then make it official next week.
