LiveBlog: Notre Dame vs. DePaul

Final: 78-54 ND. Maybe I should liveblog more of these games. Great all-around game. Falls played great. Jackson was solid. Only slight might come from Carter’s shot selection. Harangody is gonna be fun to watch for the next 3+ years. Again, how did we lose to these guys? Now let’s beat Marquette.

Check back later this week for details on the IRT Notre Dame/Marquette game watch in Chicago(Saturday at 2:30) Go Irish.

3:53 71-50. What an enjoyable game to watch. PVH says, “Turkey chili is delicious.” Thinking about flipping over to the MSU/Wis game.

7:20. 66-45. What the hell is that!? DePaul just maimed Harangody and no call. There’s been four of those no-calls in favor of DePaul tonight.

8:35: 66-41 ND. Notre Dame doesn’t even need to score again. 66 points will be enough.

10:29: 59-39 ND. Notre Dame hasn’t trailed in this game. When do we get the reserves in?

10:38: 59-37 ND. That’s ND by 22 for those who have a hard time with big numbers. Heart attack index down to a 1.5. This would be a huge win and a nice statement before Marquette comes to town.

12:23: 53-35 ND. Majerus reminds me of a cross between Harry Caray and Ron Santo. Every time DePaul looks to get back into it, ND closes the door. Nice. Heart Attack index back down to 3.

15:04: 45-32 ND. Heart attack Index at about a 6. Nice little in-game feature on Kurz. Then a three point play opportunity for the Blue Demons. Damn.

19:20: 42-22 ND. PVH just showed up. He had to “work.” Work is for sucks.

Half: 40-22 ND. Falls just hit a ridiculous trey. 7-0 run by the Irish to answer a 8-2 run by DePaul. Great half all-around. Player of the half: Colin Falls(6-9 for 19 points.) I hate Barry Bonds. In order sports personalities that I hate:

  1. Reggie Bush
  2. Barry Bonds
  3. Mark May
  4. Pete Carroll
  5. Any Buckeye(fan or player)

Stat of the half: DePaul 0-10 from three point land.

Random thought of the half: Is Russell Carter related to Ashley Russell(gratuitous reason to link to Ashley Russell Pictures.)

3:30: 33-18 ND. Russell Carter looks like he travels every time he touches the ball.

5:00: 31-14 ND. 33rd time for Falls in his career for a potential 4-point play. That has to be an NCAA record.

7:00: 27-12 ND. DePaul looks terrible. How did we lose to these guys earlier this year? I’m actually surprised these announcers haven’t pimped Nascar yet.

10:08: 25-12 ND. That spin move by Harangody looked like it came from a guard.

11:12 23-12 ND. That was a 5 point swing. ND misses the layup on the offensive side and then gives up the three point play on the defensive side. Heart attack index just jumped to a 4.

12:10: 20-10 ND. DePaul’s uniforms are modeled off of the Harlem Globetrotters. But they are playing more like the Washington Generals. Did I just jinx ND? Tory Jackson playing well.

12:57 18-8 ND. Carter looks to be playing balls to the wall. Good to see. We need his effort. There is a guy on DePaul’s team named Jabari. He should change his first name to Kareem-Abdul. My heart attack index is at a 3.

13:40: 17-8 ND. Carter took like 8 steps on that dunk. He’s ready for the NBA.

Is this game even sold out? it looks like the bleachers are 3/5ths full. How is this team undefeated at home? Our crowd is lame-ass.

Our OOC schedule is terrible. White needs to fix that.

15:56: 8-5 ND. With a foul on that FG by DePaul. Where was the call on Falls’ layup? He got hammered. My blood is already boiling. In a scale of 1-10 I’m about a 4.5 right now. A 10 is feeling like I might have a heart attack.

16:24: Just cracked the first Miller Lite. DePaul looks as if they were drinking before the game. 8-3 ND

Got home late from my parents. Turned the game on with 18:30 to go in the first half. Irish up 3-0. Never liveblogged anything before tonight. We’ll see how it goes.
